a non-profit contemporary art complex of
gallery and studio facilities, Area Contemporary Art Space
Inc provides support to contemporary artists through
exhibition, studio and associated cultural exchange which
address serious talent with a focus on modern techniques.
AMENITIES
A.C.A.S.
exhibition program operates through the organisation's
gallery space, as well as through the development of
off-site and special projects. Exhibitions are developed
internally and through proposals from artists, curators and
groups, and features work by emerging Australian artists
that demonstrate excellence, innovation and experimentation
in contemporary art practice.
A.C.A.S. houses five low-cost, studios for local
artists. The organisation initiates cultural exchange and
professional development projects that contribute to the
contemporary culture of artists in Australia. Weblogs are
produced to accompany exhibitions in order to develop
public understanding and awareness of contemporary arts.
The organisation also develops a range of programs in order
to promote new opportunities for contemporary artists, and
for audiences to encounter their work.
AMBITION
